Who is SPOT?
The Strathcona Place Outreach Team (SPOT) at SPS brings Outreach Programs and Social Services to southwest Edmonton. We are always looking at new and innovative ways to connect our community.
Language Outreach
If you speak a language other than English and are struggling to find a way to understand government forms, applications, or tax information, call us. We have access to multiple languages on our staff and outreach team, along with community resources for more languages. We have a diverse staff who know a variety of different languages. Contact us to see if your preferred language of communication is one that we can help you in.
Need Help? If you are having challenges in your life, you are not alone to find viable solutions. SPOT is only a phone call, email, or referral form away!
Online Referral Form - The SPOT Online referral form can be used by yourself, a senior, friend, family, or any concerned person. If you're a caregiver, outreach worker, or anyone who is helping a senior and need some support or have a question, ask us! It's simple, quick to fill, protects your privacy, and only asks the basics to get in touch with you! Just click "Contact Spot" to begin.

As part of our social outreach services, Strathcona Place Outreach Team (SPOT) has introduced the Food Basket Program to help promote food security among older adults. We understand that maintaining a reliable supply of food can be difficult due to factors such as fixed incomes, mobility challenges, or changes in health. This program is designed to provide support in accessing nutritious and culturally relevant food options.
To register, we will complete a brief intake form with each client to learn about their cultural, medical, and dietary needs and preferences. The food baskets are typically ready for same-day pickup at Strathcona Place Seniors Centre. If certain food items are temporarily unavailable, we will schedule a convenient pickup time in the near future.
While we do not offer delivery, we welcome any family member, friend, or support worker to pick up on behalf of the client if they are not able to do so themselves.
The Food Basket Program is intended to meet immediate food needs while also connecting clients with longer-term community food resources. We work in collaboration with Edmonton’s Food Bank and other local partners to ensure comprehensive support for our clients.
